Glee Emmite called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM in the Paris City Council Chambers. <br />2. February minutes — Minutes were emailed earlier to all board members and were available on the monitors for <br />viewing. A motion to approve the February 12, 2019 minutes was made by Jane Helberg, second by Shelley <br />McDowell, motion carried. <br />3. Committee Discussions <br />• Economic Vitality — No report in the absence of Kevin Ashmore <br />• Promotions — No report in the absence of John Brazile <br />• Organization — No report in the absence of Laurie Redus <br />• Design — Glee Emmite, HPC Liaison, reported that Lucy Funk and David Winsel were presented a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for their establishment at 125 Lamar. <br />• PDA — Glee Emmite reported that PDA will meet the following day at the Grand Connection to finalize the <br />plans for the Mini Golf Challenge in downtown the weekend of March 15-16. <br />• Chamber and V&CC — Becky Semple reported the following upcoming events. The Chamber will be a stop in <br />the Mini Golf Challenge, • Quilt Show May 10-11 at Love Civic Center, • Gull Wing group in May, • National <br />Cushman Group June 9-14, • Archery group, • Tour de Paris, • All county museums will combine to create the <br />"North Stars of Lamar County" brochure/map, • There is now a map for a walking tour of downtown on the website, <br />• The 40 year old "Welcome to Paris" highway signs will be taken down. <br />4 . Main Street Managers Report — Cheri Bedford reported the following. <br />• Community is excited about the Mini Golf Challenge downtown 5-8 PM, March 13th and 11AM-5 PM, March 16`h <br />• Movies in the Park will be discontinued this summer. • Paris Main Street received National Recognition. <br />• Downtown parking was a subject on social media, but has subsided now. • Downtown businesses should <br />encourage all employees to park away from spaces that should be available for customers. • Cheri Bedford will be <br />attending the National Main Street conference in Seattle March 23-28, 2019. The national conference will be in <br />Dallas in 2020, and Paris board members are encourage to attend. • All trees for downtown have been sold with the <br />Texas Tree Foundation to plant the trees. • PDA and Main Street will begin working together to create and <br />organize promotions and events to benefit downtown. • Wine Fest is planned for April 13th . All 10 of the <br />businesses, wineries and food vendors have been secured and paired. The event is on FaceBook, and tickets are <br />available online only at pariswinefest.com. • The faded mural for Secrest TV on the City Attorney's building will <br />be restored. • Chris Corbet of Dr. Pepper has contacted Cheri about designing a mural depicting Paris and Dr. <br />Pepper. The wall of the PCT building on 1 s` Street has been selected for the location of the mural. • Glee Emmite <br />has purchased the building at 127 Lamar for a gelato shop with an Airbnb upstairs. • Cheri shared the presentation <br />that she has prepared for the City Council. The presentation will depict Paris Main Street progress downtown. April <br />22, 2019 was chosen as the date for the presentation. The number of people working in downtown Paris will be <br />gathered and added to the presentation. • The 50 Year Texas Treasure Award to Texas Furniture on March 11'h had <br />
