<br /> <br /> <br />Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 20, 2019 <br /> <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chairwoman Carol <br />James. <br /> <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Carol James, Christina Schock, Ashley Lassiter, Marilyn Threadgill, Rebecca Umphrey, <br />Connie Dodd and Denise Kornegay. Director Priscilla McAnally was also present. <br /> <br />• Approval of Minutes: <br />The minutes of the February 20, 2019 meeting were unanimously approved as amended (Motion by <br />nd <br />Denise, 2 by Christina). <br /> <br />• New Business: <br />Staff will introduce an Adult Summer Reading Challenge beginning June 1 and lasting through August <br />31. Advertising will be done on FB, library webpage, newspaper, and by fliers in the library. <br /> <br />Director will consider applying for a historical marker from the Texas Historical Commission. Additional <br />discussions will be held with Cheri Bedford to determine viability. <br /> <br />• Old Business: <br />None <br /> <br />• Presentations: <br />• Budget Report was presented for review with no comments. <br /> <br />• Statistical Report was presented with no comments. <br /> <br /> <br />• Friends of the Library: <br />Group has committed to pay for a painting inside the library to be reworked. This will take place in April. <br /> <br />• Director’s Remarks: <br />Director gave updates on Board positions: Connie will reach term limits this year, Carol will be able to serve <br />another term, others are not up for renewal this year. <br /> <br /> <br />The next meeting will be April 17, 2019 at 4:00pm. <br /> <br />Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 4:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Submitted by <br /> <br />Ashley Lassiter, Secretary <br />
