The Commission heard from the Crockett Middle School Students about their projects for
identifying downtown buildings with markers and QR codes. These codes are linked to a
website with history of the building and business.
4. The commission reviewed the project 27 Clarksville Street: Slip cover removal and facade
rehabilitation. Mrs. Green described her project as a partial removal of the slip cover. The
metal will be cut off at a level straight across from the first tier of the building parapet wall
due to the way the existing roof and slip cover are attached. The intent was to expose as
much of the storefront as they could without removing the roof. The left over slip cover will
be painted to match the brick. The transom windows will be uncovered and restored. The
existing front zig zag brick will be removed, but the existing entry doors will be retained. A
new fagade will be built slightly inset to the property line, and align with the existing doors.
The new fagade will have a wooden bulkhead approximately 18' to 20 inches off the ground
and 4 large display windows on either side of the doors. Commissioner Emmite made the
motion to approve the rehabilitation of the property as presented, seconded by Commissioner
Vandiver, Motion carried.
5, A motion was made by Commissioner Vandiver to approve a $2,500.00 fagade grant to Dr.
Keith and Janet Green for their rehabilitation. Seconded by Commissioner Emmite, Motion
carried.
6. The commission reviewed buildings or structures located at A. 835 NE 12th B. 358 NE 12"', C.
