RESOLUTION <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR A <br />PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD GRANT, GRANT NUMBER <br />3921101, AVAILABLE FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE <br />AND ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL <br />NECESSARY DOCUMENTS. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Paris finds it in the best interest of <br />the citizens of Paris, that the Project Safe Neighborhood be operated for the <br />2019 / 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Paris agrees that in the event of loss <br />or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City Council of the city of Paris <br />assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Paris designates John Godwin, City <br />Manage, as the grantee's authorized official with the power to apply for, accept, <br />reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS; <br />Section 1. That the City Council of the city of Paris approves submission of <br />the grant application for a Project Safe Neighborhood grant to the Office of the <br />Governor. <br />Section 2. That the City Council of the city of Paris agrees that in the event of <br />loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City Council of the city of <br />Paris assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full. <br />Section 3. That the City Council of the city of Paris designates John Godwin, <br />City Manager, as the grantee's authorized official. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 24TH day of June, 2019 <br />Steven J.
