Item No. 22 memorandum TO: Mayor & City Council John Godwin, City Manager FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT DATE: June 18, 2019 BACKGROUND: The Board of Adjustment is created by State Law and codified under Section 16-100 of the City Zoning Ordinance. This Section states in part: "there is hereby created a Board of Adjustment consisting of five (S) members, each to be appointed by resolution of the City Council for a term of two years." The City Council may appoint two alternate members of the Board of Adjustment who shall serve in the absence of one or more of the regular members when requested to do so by the Mayor or City Manager. STATUS OF ISSUE: Currently the terms of the two of the regular board members are expiring on June 30. There is also a vacant alternate position which needs to be filled. We have received applications from the following: Ruth Ann Alsobrook, Cleonne Drake, Brady Fisher, and Kimberly McCann. BUDGET: N/A RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution making appointments to the Board.
