REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br />Monday, April 15, 2019 <br />4:30 PM <br />Present: <br />Glee Emmite, Chair <br />John Brazile <br />Shelley McDowell <br />Jane Helberg <br />Laurie Redus <br />Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager <br />Absent: <br />Kevin Ashmore <br />Carolyn Patterson <br />Clayton Pilgrim — Council Liaison <br />1. Cheri Bedford called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Annex <br />2. Shelley McDowell made the motion to recuse Glee Emmite so she could present her project <br />for consideration. Motion was seconded by Laurie Redus. Motion carried 5-0 <br />3. Discussion and Possible Action on the following Building Improvement Grant (BIG) requests <br />A. 127 & 129 Lamar Ave Glee Emmite presented her grant request for pluming improvements <br />for the properties. She explained that she had purchased 1/9a' of a building. Prior to her <br />purchasing the property, it was divided by a large fire wall between it and the portion of the <br />building to the west. Her plan is to create a loft Air BnB to be leased to the public, and lease <br />business space on the street level. In order to have living quarters, she was required to install a <br />sprinkler system in the upper floor. She also needed plumbing to make the property viable for a <br />business. <br />After reviewing photos and answering questions a call for a motion was made by Cheri Bedford. <br />John Brazile made the motion to approve a $5000 grant to Glee Emmite to assist with the <br />plumbing cost. Motion was seconded by Laurie Redus. Motion carried 4 — 0. <br />4. A motion was made to reinstate Glee back to the board by Cheri Bedford, seconded by Jane <br />Helberg. <br />5.
