Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 19, 2019 <br />Opening: <br />Chairwoman Carol James called the regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board to order at 4:10 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Carol James, Marilyn Threadgill, Rebecca Umphrey, Connie Dodd. Absent were Denise <br />Kornegay, Ashley Lassiter, and Christina Schock. Director Priscilla McAnally was also present. <br />• Approval of Minutes: <br />The minutes of the May15, meeting were unanimously approved. <br />• New Business: <br />A. A revision in the Volunteer Policy changing the minimum age for a volunteer from 12 to 14 <br />14 years of age. <br />B. The new full-time Clerk I is Lena McIntyre <br />C. The director distributed copies of the library's proposed FY 2019-2020 budget and talked <br />about the minor differences from FY 2018-19 <br />• Old Business: <br />None <br />• Presentations: <br />• Budget Report was presented for review with no comments. <br />• Statistical Report was presented with no comments. <br />• Friends of the Library: <br />No report <br />• Director's Remarks: <br />The Bywaters painting "Paris Fire" was taken to Dallas for restoration and reframing. The Friends have <br />generously provided the funds for this third painting to be restored. <br />Approximately 26 people have signed up for the Adult Summer Reading Challenge, which started June 1, and <br />ends on August 31. <br />Two possible programs being worked on are Read -to -the -Dog for children and a short series of programs on <br />Alzheimer's.
