<br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-090
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris Cox Field received its annual
<br />certification safety inspection on August 3 and 4, 1993; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, a discrepancy was noted with regard to the
<br />primary runway, being Runway 17/35. The correction for such
<br />discrepancy was to remark Runway 17/35, with a correction
<br />date assigned by the Federal Aviation Administration of
<br />September 17, 1993, an extension of which has been requested;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, such project should be entitled "Remarking
<br />Primary Runway 17/35, Cox Field Airport, Paris, Texas"; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the advertisement for bids for furnishing
<br />plant, labor, materials and equipment and performing all work
<br />required for the "Remarking Primary Runway 17/35, Cox Field
<br />Airport, Paris, Texas", was published on August 22, 1993 and
<br />August 29, 1993, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock
<br />P.M., Tuesday, September 7, 1993; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by
<br />Airport Markings of America, Inc., 2442 West Dallas, Grand
<br />Prai r ie, Texas and it should be awarded the bid for such
<br />construction project; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of contract for such construction
<br />project, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should be approved,
<br />and the Mayor, should be authorized to execute the same; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it would be appropriate for
<br />followed to be ratified and approved by
<br />under its emergency powers; NOW, THEREFORE,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />that the remarking of Primary Runway 17/35, required
<br />immediate attention for safety reasons and it was appropriate
<br />for the same to be treated as an emergency and for the above
<br />described bid procedure to have been followed which is in all
<br />things is ratified and approved; and
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the remarking
<br />hence for th known as "Remark ing Pr imary Runway
<br />Field Airport, Paris, Texas", and,
<br />
<br />project be

<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Bid of Airport Markings
<br />of America, Inc., for the above described airport improvement
<br />project in the amount of $15,421.95 is hereby accepted and
<br />let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms
<br />and specifications included in the bid documents; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of contract for
<br />such construction project attached hereto as Exhibit A, is
<br />hereby approved, and that the Mayor of the City of Paris,
<br />George Fisher, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed
<br />to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the contract with
<br />Airport Markings of America, Inc. for the "Remarking Primary
<br />Runway 17/35, Cox Field Airport, Paris, Texas", upon the
<br />terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A
