95-021 Amend Zoning Ordinance 1710 Revising Sections 8-107 and 12-100 Allowing for Permitted Use of Billboard and Advertising Signs

ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT ORDINANCE NO. 1710 BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 8-107 AND 12-100 OF SAID ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE PERMITTED USE OF BILLBOARD AND ADVERTISING SIGNS (29) IN GENERAL RETAIL (GR), COMMERCIAL (C), CENTRAL AREA (CA), LIGHT INDUSTRIAL (LI) AND HEAVY INDUSTRIAL (HI) DISTRICTS WITH SPECIFIC -USE PERMITS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, 1995. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising Section 8-107 of said ordinance by providing for the permitted use of billboard and advertising signs (29) in General Retail (GR), Commercial (C), Central Area (CA), Light Industrial (LI) and Heavy Industrial (HI) Districts with specific -use permits. Section 2. That Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising Section 12-100 of said ordinance so that such shall read as follows: "12-100 (52) Billboard and advertising signs in the GR, C, CA, LI and HI Districts. " Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 1995.
