Glee Emmite called the meeting to order at 4:37 PM in the Paris City Council Chambers. <br />2. Citizens Forum — Robyn Huizinga, PJC Drama Director, expressed a desire for PJC drama students to make <br />connections with the community and offered volunteer help as needed. She presented all board members with 2019 <br />season passes for their theater performances. <br />3. July minutes — Minutes were emailed earlier to all board members and were available on the monitors for <br />viewing. A motion to approve the July 9, 2019 minutes was made by John Brazile, second by Laurie Redus, motion <br />carried. <br />4. Work plan & webpage review — Glee Emmite led the board in a review of accomplishments, changes and <br />additions needed in the Main Street work plan to reflect the current status of work and goals. The webpage was <br />viewed with updates noted by Cheri Bedford. Additional information will be added as it becomes available. <br />William Walker volunteered to monitor a Snap Chat account which will provide more visibility on social <br />networking. <br />5. Board Member updates - <br />- Glee Emmite reported that the Mini -Golf Challenge and the Paris Bakery nominations have already been <br />submitted to the Texas Downtown Association. <br />• Laurie Redus is working on the nomination for the Paris Golf and Country Club in the Texas Treasures Business <br />Award from the Texas Historical Commission. <br />• John Brazile will be having a promotions meeting immediately following the Main Street meeting. <br />6. Coordinator's Report — Cheri Bedford reported the following. <br />• The restoration of the Sky Chief mural is completed and went well. <br />• The Texas Historical Commission quarterly meeting was held in the meeting room above the Paris City Council <br />Chambers beginning July 171 for 4 days with approximately 50 people attending. The group toured some of the <br />historic sites in Paris. <br />• Bids for new sidewalks along North Main will go out soon with October as a possible start of the project. <br />• Prime Time members have been making sparkle balls for downtown Christmas decorations. <br />• The Historic Preservation Committee will have a meet -and -greet on August 25, 2019 for residents of the Church <br />Street Historic District. <br />• Volunteers are working on new downtown maps. <br />• The Plaza expansion will likely begin in November. Twenty feet of green space will be added on all sides. <br />
