John Ankrum, the building official, spoke in favor of the variance. Ankrum stated <br />that the city has no issues with what is proposed and made note that we had received <br />an email from Carl Cecil in favor of the variance. <br />John House, of 1446 Clarksville St and owner of property in question, spoke in favor <br />of the variance and stated that he believes this addition will be an asset to the <br />community and will clean up the area. <br />Benny Plata, board member, calls Roger Powell of the Pregnancy Center to the <br />podium to explain their use for the storage and office space. <br />Roger Powell, of 1020 SE 29th Street and President of the board for the Pregnancy <br />Center, explains that the new building will serve as a space for storage, some offices, <br />a conference room for meetings and additional parking spaces. He also explains their <br />future intent for mobile units. <br />No one else spoke in favor or opposition, <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Brady Fisher, seconded by Benny Plata to approve the variance <br />to Section 9-301 (2) of the Zoning Ordinance. Motion carried 4:0. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition of Russ Davison <br />Lots 3-A through 3-G, City Block 188-C, being located at 600 through 730 <br />Sycamore Street. <br />The petition requested a variance of 15ft to the Build Line as indicated on the plat. <br />The plat indicates a 25ft build line and the variance requests a loft build line for <br />carports only. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />John Ankrum, the building official, announced that the applicant did not make it to <br />the meeting so the decision was up to the board's discussion. Ankrum clarifies the <br />variance requested due to missing information on the original permit and explains <br />that future development of the neighborhood will have a 1Oft build line for only the <br />carports as well. <br />
