RESOLUTION NO. 93-118 WHEREAS, the citizens of Paris did at election on the 1st day of May, 1993, provide for the funding of an Economic Development Corporation by the passage of a one-fourth (1/4) of one percent (1%) sales and use tax to carry out industrial development programs; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did in Resolution No. 93-076, on July 12, 1993, authorize the establishment of a non-profit corporation to promote, assist, and enhance economic development as permitted by the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979, and appoint the initial Board of Directors of the Paris Economic Development Corporation; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Development Corporation should be appointed with the Texas Development Corporation Act of Ann. Civ. St. art. 5190.6, Section 4A(c) and and the Bylaws of said corporation; and, WHEREAS, the initial Board of directors appointed by the City Council on July 12, 1993, with terms beginning July 20, 1993, should be appointed initial terms to said Board of Directors as follows: Paris Economic in acc()[ dance 1979, Vernon's Section ll(a), P. R. Cecil Barney Bray, III Curtis Fendley Leon Williams Eric Clifford 3 years 3 years 2 years 2 years 1 years Term Exgires On July 1 , 1996 July 19, 1996 July 19, 1995 July 19, 1995 July 19, 1994; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that P. R. Cecil and Barney Bray, III, for terms ending July 19, 1996; Curtis Fendley and Leon Williams for terms ending July 19, 1995; and Eric Clifford, for a term ending July 19, 1994, be and they are hereby appointed as members of the Board of Directors of the Paris Economic Development Corporation.
