<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of <br />1988 (Public Law 100-690), Texas will receive federal funds to <br />provide funding for the Texas Narcotics Control Program (TNCPl, and <br />the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor has been <br />designated to administer the program in the form of grants to units <br />of government; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it <br />in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek <br />assistance which will focus on drug law enforcement; and, <br /> <br />to be <br />such <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if such application for grant assistance is approved, <br />the project is to be funded by 75% federal funds and 25% local <br />matching funds; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the Texas Narcotics <br />Control Program, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division <br />for a Texas Narcotics Control Program, 1993 Grant, and if such <br />application for grant assistance is approved, the project is to be <br />funded by 75% federal funds and 25% local matching funds. <br /> <br />2, That Michael E, Malone, City Manager of the City of <br />Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Official of <br />said project and is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of <br />the City of Paris the application for grant in the form attached <br />hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, Chief, Paris Police Department, be, and <br />he is hereby appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized <br />to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, <br />communications, assurances and documents necessary for the <br />completion of said project. <br /> <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is <br />hereby appointed as Financial Officer and is hereby authorized to <br />receive and distribute funds for purposes of said project. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />, 1993. <br /> <br />George Fisher, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />T.
