With no one speaking, Mayor Clifford closed the public hearing. A Motion to approve the zoning change was made by Mayor Clifford, and seconded by Council Member Knox. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. 15. Discuss, conduct a public hearing, and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2019-037: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, SO AS TO REZONE HALL ADDITION CB 154, BLOCK A, LOT 3, LOCATED AT 801 W. WASHINGTON STREET, IN THE CITY OF PARIS, LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) TO A MULTI -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (MFl) DIRECTING A CHANGE ACCORDINGLY IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY;, PROVIDING. A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A - Ms. Easton said the proposed zoning charige.�was for a Multi -Family Dwelling District No 1 for the purpose of selling the land. She also said the future land use plan called for the lot to be Light Industrial and the existing zoning ifi the area was Multi -Family Dwelling District No. 1 and Light Industrial. Ms. Easton reported that 'the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval, as did staff. Mayor Clifford opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to ,;speak in support or opposition of this zoning changes to please come forward. Shelley Stephens with Harvey 21 Properties spoke in support of the zoning changes; citing in order for Mr. Hall to sell they property as residential, that the zoning would need ' to be changed. With no one else speaking, Mayor Clifford closed the public hearing. Council Member Pilgrim said Mr. Hall owned three properties and it would be difficult putting industry on those properties, because housing was around those properties. A Motion to approve the zoning change was made by Council Member Pilgrim and seconded by Mayor Clifford and Council Member Knox. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. 16. WASHINGTON STREET, IN THE CITY OF PARIS, LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (LI) TO A TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (217), DIRECTING A CHANGE ACCORDINGLY IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY;
