<br /> Paris Visitors & Convention Council Board of Directors Meeting <br /> <br /> August 19, 2019 <br />Members Present: Chadlee Johnston, Ryan Whitaker, Bryan Glass, Bryan Hargis, Jeff Nutt, Mark Pankaj, Dustin Broadway, Tony <br />Corso, Jay Hodge, Casey Ressler and Dr. Linda Kapp. <br />Staff Present: Paul Allen, Becky Semple, and Gina Crawford <br />Chadlee Johnston, Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. <br />Minutes: A motion to approve June minutes was made by Tony Corso, seconded by Casey Ressler. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Financials were presented by Bryan Glass and a motion to approve financials was made by Casey Ressler and seconded by Mihir <br />Pankaj. Motion passed unanimously. <br />New Business: Becky Semple presented a funding request for Harley Davidson World Record Motorcycle Parade, October 5, <br />2019. Based on the scoring system in place a motion to approve $2500 was made by Jeff Nutt, seconded by Dustin Broadway. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request from Daryl Felsberg for City Comedy Festival, January 30-February 2, 2020. Based <br />on the scoring system in place a motion to approve $2225 was made by Casey Ressler, seconded by Dustin Broadway. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />IDBA Bird Dog Fly-in at Cox Field, decided that they did not need funding this year. <br />“Turnin Rust Car Show” on September 14, 2019, did not get funding request turned in. <br />Paul Allen stated we have money left in marketing and it needs to be spent by September 30. A proposal was made for a new <br />entry way sign for Paris, a motion to approve up to $6,000 was made by Casey Ressler, seconded by Mihir Pankaj. Paul then <br />stated he is looking at three different videos on tourism, history and hotels/restaurants. A motion to approve $6000 for these <br />videos was made by Casey Ressler, seconded by Bryan Hargis. Motions passed unanimously. <br />Chadlee Johnston stated that the scoring form needs to be looked at some time for possible update. The concern was that we <br />need to stick to the criteria on the funding forms much more than the board is and if we choose to up the amount, it needs to <br />be documented as to why we did that. At this time the scoring form will stay as is. <br />Bryan Hargis stated there will be a new biking event the weekend of Tour de Paris. It is still in the works. <br />Directors Report: Becky Semple stated that the Square Dancers are coming to town and she is having difficulty in getting rooms <br />comped for the callers. A motion to approve spending up to $200 per hotel, that has already comped a room, with a total of <br />$400, if necessary, was made by Casey Ressler, seconded by Dustin Broadway. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Old Business: Mihir Pankaj asked what other events we are working on? Paul Allen stated that Trails Across Texas will be <br />coming and a possible Indoor Archery Shoot are in the works. <br />Casey Ressler gave an update on the Pump track and said things are going according to plan, but still looking at October or <br />November before grant money comes in. <br />Chadlee Johnston stated we are about to assign some new board members, so he asked for recommendations. <br />Future Business: None. <br />Adjourn: Casey Ressler made a motion to adjourn. <br />Meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Gina Crawford <br />
