<br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-045 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of <br />Districts 4, 5 and 7 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on <br />the Is t day of May, 1993, for the purpose of vot ing for and <br />electing the Councilmen from each of said Districts to serve <br />as members of the City Council for the ensuing two (2) years, <br />to-wit: <br /> <br />1. Councilman From District Four (4) <br />2. Councilman From District Five (5) <br />3. Councilman From District Seven (7) <br /> <br />and by the qualified voters of all seven (7) districts of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas for the purpose of affording said <br />voters an opportunity to vote for or against an additional <br />one-fourth 0/4) of one percent 0%) Sales and Use Tax for <br />the benefit of a corporation to carry out industrial <br />development programs, and an additional one-fourth 0/4) of <br />one percent (1%) Sales and Use Tax to reduce the property tax <br />rate; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as required by Order of the District Court of <br />the United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris <br />Division, in Civil Action No. P-75-3-CA, and as provided in <br />the Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State <br />of Texas wherein they do not conflict with said Order, such <br />election was conducted and held at seven (7) specified and <br />designated polling places, that is one polling place in <br />Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and early voting of the City <br />of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the <br />duly appointed and designated election officials of and for <br />the three (3) district voting boxes, 4, 5 and 7, and early <br />voting box, have been made to the Mayor and City Council of <br />the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns after <br />due and deliberate review and canvass thereof, show the <br />following results of said election, to-wit: <br /> <br />(1) IN DISTRICT FOUR (4) A TOTAL OF 76 VOTES WERE CAST FOR <br />COUNCILMAN FROM DISTRICT FOUR (4) AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />District Early Voting <br /> <br />Total <br /> <br />Millie Ingram McDonald <br />Write-In: <br /> <br />61 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />76 <br /> <br />(2) IN DISTRICT FIVE (5) A TOTAL OF 94 VOTES WERE CAST FOR <br />COUNCILMAN FROM DISTRICT FIVE (5) AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />District Early Voting <br /> <br />Total <br /> <br />Don Shelton <br />Write-In Candidates <br /> <br />51 <br /> <br />43 <br /> <br />94 <br /> <br />(3) IN DISTRICT SEVEN (7) A TOTAL OF 809 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM DISTRICT SEVEN (7) AS FOLLOWS: <br />
