<br />class hour of verified attendance. 'IWO hours of training credits are given for <br />verified attendance at the monthly district ass=iation meetings when the <br />meetings include a training session related to wastewater utilities. <br /> <br />It is the responsibility of each individual to maintain an accurate and <br />up-to-date list of his/her training hours, including the name, l=ation and date <br />of the training course and who taught the course. <br /> <br />EXPERIENCE <br />Experience must be actual wastewater treabnent facility or collection system <br />experience and not experience which is non-operational in nature. Credit for <br />related experience not directly connected with operation or maintenance will be <br />approved at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of actual experience. Experience <br />accrued exclusively in collection system operation and maintenance is not <br />applicable towards certification as a treabnent plant operator. Experience in a <br />purely clerical capacity such as a=unting or billing carmot be considered <br />acceptable experience. <br /> <br />EJQ\MINA'l'lOOS <br />Except for those persons applying by recipr=ity, all applicants for new or <br />higher level certificates must pass a written examination with a minirm.nn score <br />of 70% and pay the appropriate fee (after billing) before a certificate can 'be <br />issued. An applicant who fails an examination must wait a minirm.nn of three (3) <br />months before taking any examination. The executive director may require . <br />additional training after a failed examination. . . <br /> <br />Examinations are conducted by commission personnel at various l=ations acrcss <br />the state on a regular basis and quarterly at many of the District Offices. An <br />examination schedule is available from the commission's Austin and district <br />offices and at testing sites. <br /> <br />REm.WAL OF CNti'll.lCATES <br />Unless revoked or suspended, or replaced by a higher class of certificate, <br />certificates may be renewed by payment of the applicable fee and either by <br />taking and passing a renewal examination or by receiving a specified number of <br />hours of approved additional training. Prior to the expiration date of the <br />certificate, an application for renewal will be mailed to the most recent <br />address provided by the operator. It is the responsibility of the operator that <br />the completed application for renewal and appropriate payment be submitted <br />timely. When renewing by training hours, applications for renewal and <br />appropriate fees must be received by the executive director no later than 30 <br />days after the date of expiration of the certificate, or the certificate will be <br />renewable only by re-examination. <br /> <br />The training hours to be counted toward renewal are those received from the date <br />the certificate was first issued (if it is the first renewal) or from the date <br />of the certificate I s latest renewal. To renew a certificate on the basis of <br />training hours, the operator must earn the following number of credit hours and <br />pay the appropriate fee: <br /> <br />Class Hours Needed for Renewal Renewal Fee <br />A 80 hours $160.00 <br />B 50 hours $100.00 <br />C 30 hours $ 60.00 <br />D 20 hours $ 40.00 <br />II 30 hours $ 60.00 <br />I 20 hours $ 40.00 <br /> <br />Credit hours applied toward renewal may later be applied toward obtaining higher <br />classes of certification. <br /> <br />3 <br />
