PART 9:

SUBJECTIVE EVALUATION

A. Describe briefly the physical and structural conditions of the treatment
facilities: Initial construction 1940's with modifications in 1950's,

1972. 1986. 1991. Facilities in good condition.

B. Describe the condition of the collection/conveyance system including
lift stations (i.e.age of sewer, infiltration/inflow etc.) System consists

of 182.76 mi of 6" thru 30" sewers. Age varies from about 50 years old

to brand new. Significant work being done to eliminate major inflow

oroblems in oldest sections.

C. What sewerage system improvements does the community have under
consideration for next 10 yearS?Line segment replacements to renew old,

troublesome sections allowing inflow.

D.

(1)
(2)

Li st the theoret i ca I desi gn I ife of the pI ant. 50 years

List what you believe is the remaining useful life of the
wastewater treatment facilities in light of development and
maintenance/condition of the facilities: Approximately 20 years.

(3) Explain basis for estimate of remaining useful life: Assuming 5%

growth per year average, it would take approximately 20 years to

reach BOD. TSS capacity of plant from averages received today.

E. What problems, if any, have been experienced over the last year that
have threatened collection or treatment of wastewater? A major flooding

incident prevented normal emergency response to widespread power outage

and lift stations. Modifications to emergency response program will

prevent repeat occurrances.

21
