<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />92-016 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the State of <br />Texas, through its Criminal Justice Division is offering <br />grant assistance in the amount of $23,400.00 for the purpose <br />of crime prevention; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it <br />to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek <br />such assistance in said project; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Paris Police Department has planned a crime <br />prevention program requiring total funding in the amount of <br />$39,343.00; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has available for the Paris <br />Police Department crime prevention program $27,911.00 which <br />combined with the grant assistance available would fund the <br />total crime prevention program; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris did <br />heretofore execute the application for said grant on March 2, <br />1992, which execution should be in all things ratified; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the Office of the <br />Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division for <br />a Crime Prevention Program, SFA01, grant in the approximate <br />amount of $24,000.00. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City <br />of Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized <br />Official of said project and the execution of the application <br />for said grant in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A on <br />the 2nd day of March, 1992 is hereby ratified. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, be, and he is hereby appointed as <br />Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and <br />deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, <br />communicat ions, assurances and documents necessary for the <br />completion of said project. <br /> <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and <br />he is hereby authorized and directed to serve as the <br />Financial Officer for said project and to receive and <br />distribute funds for purposes of crime prevention. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of March, 1992. <br /> <br />cqt~Sh~ <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />
