Based on cost of items in 1991 at which time we ran out of materials. <br />1000 Friendly Police Officer coloring books $300.00. . <br />5000 Stick on Badges - $225.00 <br />1000 Whistles $500.00 <br />This is just a sample of the many crime prevention materials for children that our <br />program used ~nd subsequently ran out of. This is the. reason for:the_increa5e~ <br />from last years cash -match. <br /> <br />B. Items purchased for home and personal security as well as drug hand-out information <br />included the following: <br /> <br />Color Me Drug Free coloring books were $460.00 per 1000. <br />Home security and various type of drug pamphlets averaged $200.00 per 1000. <br /> <br />C. Educational V.C.R. tapes which include drug and alcohol prevention, all types of <br />violent crime prevention as well as home and personal security. These tapes range <br />from $150.00 to $275.00 each. <br /> <br />D. Advertising the Crime Prevention Unit and the services that it has to offer through <br />local media formats are $170.00 per ad in the local newspaper. Tbe $1,600.00 <br />figure will also include the publication of a local crime prevention hand book to <br />be distributed to our local citizens. <br /> <br />E. COl'lmunity signs.and displays such as the gun free/drug free school signs were <br />$30.00 each. Also to be purchased are several types of locking devices and other <br />home security examples to be shown for home and cOIlllllercial security surveys. <br /> <br />F. Office supplies and postage costs are based on previous historical information. <br /> <br />G. Travel expenses are based on 15000 miles traveled at 15 miles per gallon. <br /> <br />CJD-10 <br />
