<br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-009 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act <br />of 1988 (Public Law 100-690), Texas will receive federal <br />funds to provide funding for the Texas Narcotics Control <br />Program (TNCP), and Governor Richards has designated the <br />Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor, to <br />administer the program in the form of grants to units of <br />government; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it <br />to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek <br />such assistance which will focus on drug law enforcement; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an application for such grant assistance in an <br />amount to be determined by John Coffel, Director, Texas <br />Narcotics Control Program, after all applications have been <br />received, should be made; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if such <br />approved, the project <br />and 25% local matching <br /> <br />application for grant <br />is to be funded by 75% <br />funds; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />assistance is <br />federal funds <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the Texas Narcotics <br />Control Program, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice <br />Division for a Texas Narcotics Control Program, 1992 Grant, <br />in an amount to be determined by John Coffel, Director, Texas <br />Narcotics Control Program after all applications have been <br />received, and if such application for grant assistance is <br />approved, the project is to be funded by 75'70 federal funds <br />and 25% local matching funds. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of <br />Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized <br />Official of said project and is authorized and directed to <br />execute on behalf of the City of Paris the application for <br />grant in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, Chief, Paris Police Department, <br />be, and he is hereby appointed as Project Director and is <br />hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the <br />City of Paris all reports, communications, assurances and <br />documents necessary for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and <br />he is hereby appointed as Financial Officer and is hereby <br />authorized to receive and distribute funds for purposes of <br />said project. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 10th day of February, 1992. <br /> <br />~ ~~ <br />G r~her, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />
