<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />92-072 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is aware of <br />community needs for which local funds have not been and will not <br />be available to accomplish. Such needs are in the area of street <br />paving and drainage; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to develop a viable urban <br />community, including decent housing and a suitable living <br />environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for <br />persons of low/moderate income; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, certain conditions exist which represent a threat <br />to the public health and safety; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding <br />Texas Department of <br />Community Development <br />Program; and, <br /> <br />for such programs are available through the <br />Housing and Community Affairs for the <br />Fund, under the Texas Community Development <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interest of the <br />City of Paris to apply for funding under the 1992 Texas Community <br />Development Program; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That a Texas Community Development Program application <br />for the Community Development Fund is hereby authorized to be <br />filed on behalf of the City with the Texas Department of Housing <br />and Community Affairs. <br /> <br />2. That such application address the following activities: <br /> <br />(a) Curb, gutter, street paving improvements: Wood Street <br />from 7th N.E. to 8th N.E.; Ash Street from 7th N.E. to <br />8th N.E.; Grove Street from 3rd N.E. to Fitzhugh; <br />Garrett Street from 5th N.E. to 7th N.E.; 5th N.E. from <br />Grove to Garrett; 7th N.E. from Grove to Martin Luther <br />King Jr. Drive; 7! N.E. from Grove to Ash; 8th N.E. <br />from Grove to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive; Fitzhugh <br />Avenue from Grove to Martin Luther King Drive. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Drainage <br />drainage <br />block. <br /> <br />Improvements: Replacement of <br />structure across Grove Street <br /> <br />substandard <br />in the 300 <br /> <br />3.
