Item No. 13 <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />Gene Anderson, Interim City Manager & Finance Director <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE BUILDING & STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />DATE: February 28, 2020 <br />BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards and Commissions, adopted by City <br />Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in June. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Appointments were made on June 24. At that time, there was one vacant <br />position not filled due to lack of applications. However, Johnny Norris agreed to stay until we <br />got additional applicants. Recently, one of the other board members, Matthew Allen, resigned. <br />We have advertised for two vacant positions and received one application from Joshua Jones. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Joshua Jones to serve the unexpired term of Mr.Allen. <br />
