<br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-120 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Lamar <br />County, Texas, is deeply cognizant of the problem of drugs in <br />our area and of the tragic consequences thereof to our <br />citizenry of all classes; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we deem it incumbent upon us as guard ians of <br />the public trust to support in every appropriate way efforts <br />to combat this evil which afflicts such a large segment of <br />the population; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we are ever mindful that there are in our city <br />and county strong and effective forces marshalled to confront <br />and bring to justice those persons who would traffic in <br />illegal drugs and would otherwise be engaged in drug-related <br />activities; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />that Governor Ann Richards be made aware of the City of <br />Paris I support for her efforts through the Texas Narcotics <br />Control Program and the Regional Controlled Substance <br />Apprehension Program, and of our continuing request that she <br />support these programs for which local resources are <br />inadequate; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City <br />of Paris, Mattie Cunningham, be, and she is hereby directed <br />to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to our <br />Honorable Governor. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of December, 1991. <br /> <br />~s&~ <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~~\\">~ClI~ <br />Mattie Cunningham, Cit Cler <br /> <br /> <br />Ci ty Attorney <br />
