RESOLUTION NO. 2020-014 <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS APPROVING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS TO <br />ACT AS AUTHORIZED OFFICIAL FOR THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS <br />GRANT, WITH THE POWER TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, <br />ALTER, OR TERMINATE THE GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE <br />APPLICANT AGENCY; REPLACING THE FORMER CITY MANAGER, <br />JOHN GODWIN, AS AUTHORIZED OFFICIAL; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on the 24th day of June, 2019, the City Council of the City of Paris, <br />Texas approved resolution number 2019-019 authorizing the city to submit an <br />application for a Project Safe Neighborhood Grant, Grant number 3921101, and <br />designating John Godwin, the former City Manager as the Authorized Official; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council must designate a new Authorized Official to <br />replace Mr. Godwin because his departure from the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant requires the Authorized Official, Finance Manager and <br />Grant Manager be separate individuals; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris authorizes the Mayor of the <br />City of Paris to serve as the Authorized Official with the power to apply for, accept, <br />reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are <br />hereby in all things approved. <br />SECTION 2.
