Item No. 16 <br />Memorandum <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: TAXI CAB LICENSE <br />DATE: June 8, 2020 <br />BACKGROUND: Michael Glenn Turner d/b/a Texaz Transportation has made an application <br />for a taxicab license to operate one or more taxicabs on the public streets, alleys, and highways <br />within the City of Paris for the purpose of transporting passengers. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: The taxicab company licenses ordinarily run from January through <br />December. This taxicab company license will begin upon passage of the ordinance and expire <br />December 31, 2020. The certificate of insurance has been provided to the City and the required <br />fee (pro -rated) will be collected prior to issuance of the license. <br />OPTIONS: Approve or deny the application for a taxicab license to Mr. Turner. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the ordinance granting a taxicab license to Michael Glenn <br />Turner d/b/a License. <br />
