ORDINANCE N0. 2020-021
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS
<br />APPROVING AN AMENDED SITE PLAN FOR A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT
<br />DISTRICT - RETAIL SHOPPING CENTER (PD -a1), PREVIOUSLY
<br />ESTABLISHED THROUGH THE ADOPTION OF ZONING ORDINANCE NO.
<br />2000-004, FOR PART OF LOT 6, BLOCK 1 OF THE PARIS TOWNE
<br />CROSSING ADDITION, BEING LOCATED IN THE 3000 BLOCK OF LOOP
<br />286, PARIS, LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
<br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING A REPEALER
<br />CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING
<br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />WHEREAS, on January 6, 2000, the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, adopted
<br />Ordinance No. 2000-004, creating a Planned Development District -Retail Shopping Center
<br />(PD -a1) on Part of Lot 14, City Block 259; and,
<br />WHEREAS, on September 9, 2002 Part of Lot 14, City Block 259, was platted as the
<br />Paris Towne Crossing Addition, creating Lots 1 through 6, Block 1 of Paris Towne Crossing
<br />Addition, including a Site Plan for Development; and,
<br />WHEREAS, on May 8, 2020, Paul Wilson on behalf of Ashley Homestore submitted
<br />an amended site plan to the City Engineering and Planning Department for approval to
<br />amend the approved Site Plan for Lot 6A, Block 1, Paris Towne Crossing Addition, in order
<br />to construct an Ashley Furniture Store; and,
<br />WHEREAS, on June 1, 2020, after notice and publication as required by law, the
<br />Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing to consider and act on the amended
<br />site plan; and,
<br />WHEREAS, following the public hearing, discussion and deliberations, the Planning
<br />and Zoning Commission voted 5-0 to approve the amended site plan; and,
<br />WHEREAS, on June 22, 2020, after notice and publication as required by law, the
<br />City Council of the City of Paris held a public hearing to receive input from the citizens of
<br />the City of Paris regarding the proposed amended site plan as set forth in Exhibit "A"
<br />attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and,
<br />WHEREAS, following the public hearing, consideration of the recommendation of
<br />the Planning and Zoning Commission and other discussions related to the amended site
<br />plan for the Paris Town Center attached hereto as Exhibit "A", the City Council voted .
<br />Ayes 0 Nays to approve the amended site plan for the property.
