Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 17, 2020 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:01 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Carol James, Denise Kornegay, Marilyn Threadgill, Melanie Loughmiller, <br />Rebecca Umphrey, and director Priscilla McAnally. Wendy Hamaker and Ashley Lassiter were absent. <br />I. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved. <br />H. New Business: <br />A. The director updated the board on the library reopening and COVID-19 procedures the staff are <br />following - masks, frequent cleaning/disinfecting, limited computer use, etc. <br />B. New staff member MaryAnn Maxfield joined the library as the new part-time Clerk 1. <br />C. The director went over the proposed FY 2020-2021 budget for the library. <br />D. Board terms of Denise Kornegay, Rebecca Umphrey, Ashley Lassiter, and Wendy Hamaker expire <br />in June leaving four vacancies on the board. The City Council has appointed Jennifer Cullum and <br />Steve Hellmann to fill two of the four vacancies. <br />111. Old Business: <br />IV. Presentations <br />A. Budget Report. <br />There were no unusual expenditures and spending is on track for the year. <br />B. Statistical Report. <br />Due to the library's closure from March 25 through May 14 due to COVID- 19 pandemic <br />materials circulation and visits were down substantially. <br />V. Friends of the Library: <br />VI. Director's Remarks <br />The Reavis Z. Wortham "Come & Go Book Signing" on June 13 had 37 people during the two hour <br />period of the signing. <br />The next meeting will be July 15. <br />Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 4:25 p.m. <br />Submitted by <br />Priscilla McAnally for Ashley Lassiter, Secretary <br />
