CITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020. The meeting will be held at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, in Paris, Texas. Due to the CoVID outbreak facemasks are encouraged for those in attendance of the meeting. Access to the meeting will also be available through live stream on https://paristexas.goy/public. The matters to be discussed and acted upon are as follows: Opening Agenda 1. Call meeting to order, 2. Invocation. 3. Pledge of Allegiance. 4. A. Citizens' forum. (Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two minutes. Unless an item is posted on the Agenda, the Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific factual information. Claims against the City, Council Members, or employees, as well as individual personal appeals are not appropriate for citizens' forum.) If necessary, the City Council may convene into Executive Session under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code regarding any item on this agenda. B. Proclamation honoring the 1001h Anniversary of the Ratification of the 19Th Amendment. Consent Agenda Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Council, with such approval applicable to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Council Member may request any item to be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. 5. Approve minutes from the meeting on July 27, 2002. 6. Receive reports and/or minutes from the following boards and commissions: a. Historic Preservation Commission (6-8-2020) b. Traffic Commission (2-4-2020) 7. Receive the 2020 tax appraisal roll from the Lamar County Appraisal District. 8. Approve the lowest bids received for water and wastewater treatment chemicals for use in FY 2020-21. 9. Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code §392.031(a), appoint T.K. Haynes to fill the vacant position on the Housing Authority of the City of Paris.
