MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />August 24, 2020 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />August 24, 2020, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufinan, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Steve Clifford <br />Council Members: Paula Portugal; Derrick Hughes; Gary Savage; <br />Linda Knox; and Clayton Pilgrim <br />City Staff: Grayson Path, City Manager; Stephanie Harris, City <br />Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Randy Tuttle, <br />Interim Police Chief; Kent Klinkerman, EMS <br />Director; Doug Harris, Utilities Director; Carla <br />Easton, City Engineer; M.A. Smith, Public Works <br />Director; Tom Hunt; Municipal Judge; and Clyde <br />Crews, Fire Marshal <br />Absent: Council Member: Renae Stone <br />Opening Agenda <br />Y <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Clifford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. Invocation. <br />City Manager Grayson Path gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Portugal led the pledge. <br />4. Citizens' forum. <br />Robert Giberson, 1280 CR 32220, Sumner — he said he owned the property at 741-19a' <br />N.W. He complained about the portable building ordinance, and that he had received a code <br />violation. He said it was his property and he should be able to do what he wanted on his <br />property. <br />Donna Swindle, 1740 N.E. 10a' - she said she owned a residence and business in front of <br />it, and that she paid taxes. She also said a person should be able to do what they want to do with <br />their own property. <br />
