Regular Council Meeting August 24, 2020 Page 6 in the department head roles. Mr. Path explained this was pursuant to Texas Local Government Code 143.013(a)(1). He said Interim Fire Chief Thomas McMonigle had served in the role as Interim Fire Chief since October 2019 and Randy Tuttle had served in the role as Interim Chief of Police since July 2020. Mr. Path said this was a housekeeping item and asked that City Council confirm these interim appointments. A Motion to confirm Thomas McMonigle as Interim Fire Chief and Randy Tuttle as Interim Chief of Police was made by Council Member Pilgrim and seconded by Council Member Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. 22. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, Consultation with Attorney, to receive legal advice from the City Attorney about (1) pending or contemplated litigation and/or (2) on matters in which the duty of an attorney to her client under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflict with this chapter, including but not limited to Building and Standards Commission appeals. Mayor Clifford convened City Council into executive session at 5:58 p.m. 23. Reconvene into Open Session and possibly take action on those matters discussed in Executive Session. ' Mayor Clifford reconvened City Council into open session at 6:08 p.m. and said Council had received legal advicefrom the City Attorney. 24. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to Resolution No. 2604-081. No future events were referenced. 25. Adjournment. There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Clifford and was seconded by Council Member Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays.
