Regular Council Meeting <br />August 24, 2020 <br />Page 6 <br />in the department head roles. Mr. Path explained this was pursuant to Texas Local Government <br />Code 143.013(a)(1). He said Interim Fire Chief Thomas McMonigle had served in the role as <br />Interim Fire Chief since October 2019 and Randy Tuttle had served in the role as Interim Chief <br />of Police since July 2020. Mr. Path said this was a housekeeping item and asked that City <br />Council confirm these interim appointments. <br />A Motion to confirm Thomas McMonigle as Interim Fire Chief and Randy Tuttle as <br />Interim Chief of Police was made by Council Member Pilgrim and seconded by Council Member <br />Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />22. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071 of the Texas Government <br />Code, Consultation with Attorney, to receive legal advice from the City Attorney about <br />(1) pending or contemplated litigation and/or (2) on matters in which the duty of an <br />attorney to her client under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the <br />State Bar of Texas clearly conflict with this chapter, including but not limited to Building <br />and Standards Commission appeals. <br />Mayor Clifford convened City Council into executive session at 5:58 p.m. <br />23. Reconvene into Open Session and possibly take action on those matters discussed in <br />Executive Session. ' <br />Mayor Clifford reconvened City Council into open session at 6:08 p.m. and said Council <br />had received legal advicefrom the City Attorney. <br />24. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2604-081. <br />No future events were referenced. <br />25. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Clifford and <br />was seconded by Council Member Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays.
