PEDC Board Meeting Minutes August 18, 2020 Page 3 of 4 Discuss and Consider Action on the Board's Interest in Convening for an Orientation and Planning Retreat Mr. Bray said that he and Ms. Hammond have discussed this idea because there are so many new faces on the Board. Ideas could be half day sessions in our area or an out of town retreat for a day. We are open to ideas. Mr. Pankaj said he is in favor of a retreat and is open to a day or 2 half day sessions. Ms. Bills stated that two half day sessions in Paris would be good. Mr. Terrell agreed that half days in town are good. Dr. Hashmi said it is a good idea. Mr. Coleman stated that it is important that the Board get together. Mr. Bray suggested that the City Council he invited to join. Dr. Hashmi made a motion to table the discussion of the planning retreat and discuss after the next item. Mr. Pankaj seconded the motion. Vote was 6 -ayes to 0 -nays. Discuss and Consider Action on Appointin2 Subcommittees for Existine Industry Outreach Dr. Hashmi made a motion to table this item until we have had the retreat. Mr. Coleman seconded the motion. Vote was 5 -ayes to d -nays. Discuss Trainigg for New Board Members * TEDC Sales Tag Workshops – Ms. Hammond stated that in the Board packet there is information on the Sales Tax Workshop. She encouraged all the Board to participate in the workshop even though it is not mandatory. She will follow-up with an email to the Board. • PEDC Board Member Email Accounts – Mr. Stout told the Board he has been communicating with them about the email accounts. We are in the process of creating a public email account for each Board Member. The reason for this is: meeting the standards of other local government entities and addressing privacy issues with respect to Public Information Requests. Having a public email account will let members of the public communicate with the Board without using the Board Members personal email. Discuss and Consider Action on the PEDC monthly meetings being held the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 P—M. Mr. Pankaj made a motion to approve the PEDC monthly meetings be at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. Ms. Bills seconded the motion. Vote was 5 -ayes to 0 -nays.
