ORDINANCE NO. 2020-050 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, ISSUING A LICENSE TO SHATARA MOORE FOR STOP N DROP TRANSPORTATION, LLC, TO OPERATE A TAXICAB/SHUTTLE BUSINESS ON THE PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; FINDING A PUBLIC NECESSITY AND CONVENIENCE FOR ISSUANCE OF SAID LICENSE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Shatara Moore,, owner of Stop N Drop Transportation, LLC has filed application with the City of Paris to operate a taxicab/shuttle business in the city limits of the City of Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, city staff, having reviewed the application., insurance certificates and driving record of the applicant hereby recommends that a license to operate a taxicab/shuttle business in the city limits of the City of Paris be issued to Shatara Moore, owner of Stop N Drop Transportation, LLC effective September 28, 2020; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris'. Texas hereby finds and determines that the al plication satisfies the requirements of the Cil Charter and City Ordinances for issuance of a license to operate a taxicab/shuttle business, and further finds and determines that the applicant has made the requisite showing of public necessity and convenience for said taxicab business. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That by a twoo-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the City Council of the City of Paris, the City Council has found that public necessity and convenience require that a license be issued to Shatara Moore, owner of Stop N Drop Transportation, LLC, ("Licensee") to operate a taxicab/shuttle business on the public streets of the City of Paris, Texas for a term effective September 28, 2020, and ending December 31, 2020. Section 3. That the right, privilege, and grant herein contained shall not be transferred or assigned by Licensee without first obtaining the formal action and written consent of the City Council of the City of Paris,, and any attempted assignment or transfer of said rights and privileges by the Licensee without first obtaining such consent and permission from the City Council of the City of Paris shall operate, ipso facto, as a termination of the rights, privileges, and grant herein contained. Section 4. That the taxicab/shuttle business operated or maintained under this license shall be used for the purpose of the transportation of passengers and the personal
