Interpretation of code, create a board of appeals for contractors to appeal code <br />interpretation by the building and fire code officials. <br />Both fire and building codes support this request. <br />2. Eliminate the verification by notary that the home was treated for termites. <br />3. Eliminate the local amendment requiring buildings over 6000 SF to have fire sprinklers. <br />Code minimum is based on construction type and use, typically 12,000 SF. The local <br />amendment was adopted due to the size of our fire department and available resources to <br />respond to fire. <br />4. Eliminate the local amendment that does not allow separation by fire walls to eliminate a <br />fire sprinkler system requirement. <br />Code minimum will allow a firewall as designed by chapter 706 to constitute a separate <br />building. <br />5. Add the following local amendment: The City Manager shall have the authority to waive <br />any local amendment after hearing both sides of the issue and making sound judgment <br />based on the information provided. <br />6. Accept the modifications to local amendments to the IBC, IRC and Plumbing code as <br />proposed by John Ankrum and Buddy Heuberger. <br />On February 10th, a voting ballot was emailed to each member of the committee for a final decision. <br />A tally of votes is attached for reference, and summarized here. <br />1.
