ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 25, "PLUMBING AND GAS," ARTICLE II, SECTION 25- 17, "SAME—AMENDMENTS," OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris by Ordinance No. 2017-027 has previously adopted the 2015 International Plumbing Code with local amendments; and WHEREAS, city staff appointed a committee of local builders, developers, engineers, and tradesmen (the "Building Review Committee") to review said local amendments to help determine which of said amendments as they have been applied in practice are appropriate for the City of Paris and which amendments are not; and WHEREAS, said committee and staff have made recommendations to revise and amend the local amendments to the 2015 International Plumbing Code; and WHEREAS, the Building Review Committee hereby recommends the 2015 International Plumbing Code as the best uniform plumbing code to provide uniform guidelines and regulations for all property, buildings and structures by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use and the demolition of such structures in the City of Paris, Texas, and that it is in the best interest of the health and safety of the citizens of the City of Paris, Texas to revise the local amendments recommended by the committee; and, WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Paris and its citizens to amend the local amendments to the 2015 Plumbing Code as set forth below. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Chapter 25, Article II, Section 25-17, "Same—Amendments," of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris shall be and is hereby amended to adopt the local amendments to the 2015 International Plumbing Code set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, thereby repealing and replacing the Exhibit A attached to Ordinance 2017-027 and incorporated therein by reference.
