Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />24. Discuss and appoint one member to fill a vacant position on the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission. <br />Ms. Ellis said Cody Adams was appointed to serve on the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission on July 2, and has since resigned because he moved out of the city. Ms. Ellis <br />reported they had two applicants, one of which was James O'Bryan who had applied for an <br />appointment in June. She said the other applicant was Mike Mosher and both were qualified <br />applicants. <br />Mayor Clifford said if agreeable with Council, he would take nominations. Mayor <br />Clifford nominated James O'Bryan and asked if there were other nominations. Council Member <br />Portugal nominated Mike Mosher. Mayor Clifford closed the floor for nominations and asked for <br />a vote on James O'Bryan. James O'Bryan received two votes. Mayor Clifford asked for a vote <br />on Mike Mosher. Mike Mosher received four votes. Mike Mosher was appointed to serve on <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />25. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071 of the Texas Government <br />Code, Consultation with Attorney, to receive legal advice from the City Attorney about <br />(1) pending or contemplated litigation and/or (2) on matters in which the duty of an <br />attorney to her client under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the <br />State Bar of Texas clearly conflict with this chapter, as follows: Love Civic Center. <br />Mayor Clifford convened City Council into executive session at 8:05 p.m. <br />26. Reconvene into Open Session and possibly take action on those matters discussed in <br />Executive Session. <br />Mayor Clifford reconvened City Council into open session at 8:25 p.m. and said there <br />was no action to be taken. <br />27. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2004-081. <br />Mayor Clifford said he would like for the Traffic Commission to review the placement of <br />speed bumps on the streets mentioned earlier in the meeting. City Attorney Stephanie Harris <br />said she could send to this request to the staff. Council Member Portugal said she wanted on the <br />next agenda consideration of a safety record policy for contractors. <br />
