Regular Council Meeting <br />October 26, 2020 <br />Page 6 <br />A Motion to adopt an Ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of the City of Paris, <br />Texas Tax Note, Series 2020 and enacting other provisions related thereto was made by Mayor <br />Clifford and seconded by Council Member Knox. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />20. Consider all matters incident and related to the issuance and sale of the City of Paris, <br />Texas General Obligation Refunding Bond, Series 2020, including the adoption of <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2020-059: AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH BOND <br />AND ENACTING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO. <br />A Motion to adopt an Ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of the City of Paris, <br />Texas General Obligation Refunding Bond, Series 2020 and enacting other provisions related <br />thereto. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />19. Discuss and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2020-060: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, ADOPTING CHAPTER 33, <br />"VEHICLES FOR HIRE," PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE; PROVIDING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A <br />PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />City Attorney Stephanie Harris said licenses had been approved for years to taxicab and <br />shuttle services via individual ordinance in conformance with Charter Section 124; however, the <br />Council had never adopted an ordinance that provided for a penalty for failure to obtain such a <br />license. Ms. Harris reviewed the changes, citing it would not affect the City's practice of <br />granting these licenses. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Pilgrim and seconded by <br />Council Member Savage. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />21. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 2004-081. <br />No future events were referenced. <br />22. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Council Member <br />Pilgrim and was seconded by Council Member Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays.
