RESOLUTION NO. 2020-050 <br />A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS FOR THE GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, FOR COUNCIL <br />DISTRICT 2; DECLARING THE WINNER IN SAID ELECTION; <br />DECLARING THE TERMS OF OFFICE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELEATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on November 3, 2020, a general election took place for the <br />purpose of voters to elect one Council Member from District 2; and <br />WHEREAS, in District 2, a total of 388 votes were cast, with Ed Darnell <br />receiving a total of 167 votes and Reginald B. Hughes receiving a total of 221 votes. <br />WHEREAS, Reginald B. Hughes received the majority of votes cast and is <br />hereby declared elected to office. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are <br />hereby in all things approved. <br />SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby declares Reginald B. Hughes the <br />candidate elected to serve for District 2. Reginald B.
