Item No. 14 <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Grayson Path, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: TXCDBG — North Main Street & Houston Sidewalk Improvements <br />Change Order <br />DATE: December 14, 2020 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City has an ongoing 2018 TXCDBG Project at North Main Street & Houston which is <br />basically completed minus some final punch list items. This project was, among other things, to <br />include sidewalk improvements near the Courthouse. When the Texas Department of Licensing <br />and Regulation (TDLR) inspected the project, they instructed the City to add safety railing on the <br />building side along all ADA ramps. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: <br />Hayter Engineering has worked with the contractor to develop the attached Change Order to <br />perform the needed work to satisfy the TDLR and obtain their approval of the project. This is <br />Change Order #2. The City Manager has not had an opportunity to dig in to this project to learn <br />the authorized roles, so he is bringing this Change Order to the City Council for them to consider <br />approving in order to move this CO along quickly and move this project closer to completion. <br />TDLR will require this additional handrail, thus the work is needing to be done. City Staff and <br />Hayter Engineering do not have issue with the request. <br />BUDGET: <br />Original Contract = <br />$206,185.00 <br />Change Order #1 = <br />$4,853.00 <br />Change Order #2 = <br />$11,361.04 <br />New Contract Price = <br />$222,399.04 <br />
