Mr. Path said the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission unanimously approve this zoning change, and city staff recommended approval. <br />Mayor Clifford opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to speak in <br />support or opposition of this item, to please come forward. With no one speaking, Mayor <br />Clifford closed the public hearing. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Pilgrim and seconded by <br />Council Member Portugal. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />18. Discuss, conduct a public hearing and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2020-063: AN <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, SO AS TO REZONE CITY OF PARIS BLOCK 188- <br />E, LOT 23, LOCATED IN THE 2800 BLOCK OF JEFFERSON ROAD AT <br />COLLEGIATE DRIVE, FROM A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT (PDal) <br />TO A MULTIPLE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (MF -1); DIRECTING A <br />CHANGE ACCORDINGLY IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY; <br />PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; <br />PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />City Manager Grayson Path explained that the Pshigoda Foundation was requesting a <br />zoning change on behalf of the Gibbs Family, and they were proposing to subdivide 10.007 acres <br />of the 39.3210 acres in order to construct 75-80 apartment units for senior living. Mr. Path said a <br />senior living apartment complex would provide a good transition into the surrounding area, that <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved the zoning change, and staff <br />recommended approval. <br />Mayor Clifford opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to speak in <br />support or opposition of this item, to please come forward.
