Item No. 10 <br />Memorandum <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Gene Anderson, Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: FLOOD MITIGATION ASSISTANCE PROJECT GRANT <br />DATE: February 8, 2021 <br />BACKGROUND: The property located at 2597 Clark Lane is located in the 100 -year floodplain <br />and is currently insured with a National Flood Insurance Program policy. This location is flood <br />prone and has experienced repetitive losses. The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) <br />administers FEMA's flood mitigation assistance program. The City of Paris made application for <br />assistance under this program in January 2019. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: The final approval signature from TWDB was in place on December 9, 2020. <br />The grant award is for $189,500.00 and requires no local match. The project includes purchase of <br />the property, demolition of the house, backfill and landscape, other and related expenses. <br />BUDGET: This project will have no impact on the budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Staff recommends acceptance of the project grant and authorizing <br />the City Manager to sign all required documents. <br />
