Item No. 10 Memorandum TO: Mayor & City Council Grayson Path, City Manager FROM: Gene Anderson, Finance Director SUBJECT: FLOOD MITIGATION ASSISTANCE PROJECT GRANT DATE: February 8, 2021 BACKGROUND: The property located at 2597 Clark Lane is located in the 100 -year floodplain and is currently insured with a National Flood Insurance Program policy. This location is flood prone and has experienced repetitive losses. The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) administers FEMA's flood mitigation assistance program. The City of Paris made application for assistance under this program in January 2019. STATUS OF ISSUE: The final approval signature from TWDB was in place on December 9, 2020. The grant award is for $189,500.00 and requires no local match. The project includes purchase of the property, demolition of the house, backfill and landscape, other and related expenses. BUDGET: This project will have no impact on the budget. RECOMMENDATION: The Staff recommends acceptance of the project grant and authorizing the City Manager to sign all required documents.
