Item No. 13 Memorandum TO: Mayor & City Council Grayson Path, City Manager FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk SUBJECT: HANGAR WAIT LIST APPLICATION & HANGAR WAITING LIST POLICY DATE: March 8, 2021 BACKGROUND: For the last several months, City Staff has been receiving complaints about the manner in which hangar assignments were being made at the Cox Field Airport. City Staff met with airport manager Jerry Richey and from there, drafted a Hangar Wait List Application and Hangar Waiting List Policy. Having a Hangar Wait List Application on file, will provide to the City contact information for the applicant, as well as other important information. Having a written Hangar Waiting List Policy is designed to provide a simple and fair process for aircraft owners to be placed on a wait list for hangars at Cox Field. The Hangar Wait List will be maintained by City Staff and a copy will be posted at Cox Field Airport. STATUS OF ISSUE: The Airport Advisory Board met on February 25, 2021. They considered applications and policies from other cities. Following discussions, the Board recommended the Hangar Wait List Application and Hangar Waiting List Policy that is in your agenda packet. BUDGET: There is no impact to the budget, as this is a budget neutral item. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Hangar Wait List Application and Hangar Waiting List Policy for Cox Field Airport.
