<br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-118-A <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did <br />heretofore on November 14, 1988, pass Resolution No. 88-116, <br />which said resolution was incorrect and requires correction, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />PARIS, That Resolution No. 88-116, be, <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />OF <br />and <br /> <br />THE <br />the <br /> <br />CITY <br />same <br /> <br />OF <br />is <br /> <br />"WHEREAS, the United States Department of Education is <br />administering assistance under the Library Literacy Program, <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it <br />to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek <br />such assistance, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an application for such grant assistance in <br />the amount of $11,800.00 should be made, NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br /> <br />1. That an application be made to the United States <br />Department of Education for a grant in the amount of <br />$11,800.00, for the Library Literacy Program. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City <br />of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and he is hereby designated <br />Certifying Representative and is hereby authorized and <br />directed on behalf of the City of Paris to execute and <br />transmit the application in the form attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Beverly Lewis, Director of Library Services <br />of the City of Paris, be, and she is hereby designated <br />Contact Person to execute and deliver all other communica- <br />tions, instruments and documents necessary for the <br />completion of said project. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 19th day of December, 1988. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Eric S.
