<br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-014 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article 6701m-2 provides that upon approval of <br />the governing body of a city, automobiles used by police <br />need not be marked as city owned vehicles when used for the <br />purpose of performing official duties; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris desires <br />to authorize the Paris Police Department to use unmarked <br />vehicles as they may deem necessary in order to facilitate <br />police INVESTIGATIVE undercover work and other legitimate <br />functions of the police department; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br />PARIS, its governing <br />Article 670lm-2 does <br />Department authority <br />purpose of performing <br /> <br />BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />body, by the authority granted it in <br />hereby give the City of Paris Police <br />to use unmarked vehicles for the <br />official duties; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chief, Paris Police <br />Department, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br />designate such vehicles to be used as unmarked vehicles for <br />performing official duties; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that W. E. Anderson, Director <br />of Finance, City of Paris, be, and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to make application for the procurement of <br />license plates to be used on Paris Police Department vehi- <br />cles, designated by the Chief, which will not reveal that <br />the vehicles are owned by the City of Paris or exempt from <br />taxes from the State of Texas, and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this <br />Resolution be transmitted by Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk <br />of the City of Paris to William D.
