<br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-013 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did <br />heretofore in Resolution No. 87-108, authorize an emergency <br />force account project for the rehabilitation of certain lift <br />stations, the number and scope of which it is found should <br />be increased and expanded and said resolution should be <br />amended as follows: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has <br />heretofore recognized the need for rehabilitation plus <br />modification of the following seven (7) lift stations: <br />Campbell's Lift Station, Northwest Loop (Battle's) Lift <br />Station, Old Bonham Road Lift Station, Woodard's Lift <br />Station, 7th Street S.W. Lift Station, Toco Lift Station and <br />Jefferson Heights Lift Station; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all lift stations shall be modified with <br />fixtures that will accept a portable pump so that the lift <br />station can function when its own pumps or motors are <br />inoperative; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />funded out of <br />Budget; and, <br /> <br />said rehabilitation was authorized to be <br />the fiscal year 1987-88 Water and Sewer Fund <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the protection of the environment and the <br />standards set by the State Department of Health, Texas Water <br />Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency, dictate <br />that an emergency be declared and that said rehabilitation <br />and modification be accomplished by force account; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the need for the rehabilitation of the seven (7) <br />lift stations and the modification of the all lift stations <br />with fixtures that will accept a portable pump so that the <br />lift station can function when its own pumps or motors are <br />inoperative, is found to be and does justify the declaration <br />of an emergency and the same is hereby declared. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the city staff is hereby <br />authorized to exercise the emergency powers as the same <br />relate to the budgeting, expenditures, procurement and bid <br />process with the only requirement being that the City <br />Council of the City of Paris be kept abreast of the progress <br />of the rehabilitation and modification project on a monthly <br />basis. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of February, 1988. <br /> <br />~~- <br />B~ e Burnett, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />
