Item No. 17
TO: Mayor & City Council
Grayson Path, City Manager
FROM: Andrew Mack, Director of Planning & Community Development
SUBJECT: GRANT PROJECT CLOSEOUT FOR THE TxCDBG MAIN STREET
FUND PROJECT
DATE: May 24, 2021
BACKGROUND: In 2018, the city applied for a grant through the Texas Community
Development Block Grant Program — Main Street Fund (TxCDBG — MS), administered by the
Texas Department of Agriculture for the replacement of sidewalks along N. Main and Houston
streets. The City was awarded this $250,000.00 grant for the 2019/20, 2020/21 budget years,
providing $75,000 toward engineering and construction of the proposed improvements. Hayter
Engineering completed the construction drawings/construction monitoring for the project,
Resource Management & Consulting Co. completed the project administration, and Hwy 19
Construction completed the construction work.
STATUS OF ISSUE: All work under this grant project is complete. The City has accepted the
improvements, and we are now ready to proceed with grant closeout. As part of the TxCDBG
closeout process, a public hearing is required to receive input from interested parties.
BUDGET: This project was funded from TxCDBG Main Street Fund and city budget funds.
RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a public hearing to receive input regarding the TxCDBG Main
Street Improvement project.
