Item No. 19 <br />Memorandum <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Andrew Mack, Director of Planning & Community Development <br />SUBJECT: Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 16-102 <br />DATE: May 24, 2021 <br />BACKGROUND: This is a clean-up amendment to amend the time to appeal from fifteen (15) <br />day to twenty (20) days to be consistent with recent state law. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: The operative text of the amendment will be as follows: <br />Section : That City of Paris Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 16-102 be amended to read <br />in its entirety: <br />"Appeals to the Board of Adjustment can be taken by any person aggrieved or by an <br />officer, department or board of the municipality affected by the decision of the <br />administrative officer. Such an appeal shall be taken within twenty (20) days after the <br />decision has been rendered by the administrative officer, by filing with the officer from <br />whom the appeal is taken and with the Board of Adjustment, a notice of appeal <br />specifying the grounds thereof. The officer from whom the appeal is taken shall <br />forthwith transmit to the Board all the papers constituting the record upon which the <br />appeal is taken and on due cause shown." <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the Ordinance amending Zoning <br />Ordinance No. 1710, Section 16-102. <br />
