MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />June 28, 2021 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />June 28, 2021, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: <br />Mayor Pro -Tem: <br />Council Members <br />City Staff <br />Paula Portugal <br />Reginald Hughes <br />Renae Stone; Gary Savage; Mihir Pankaj; Linda <br />Knox; and Clayton Pilgrim <br />Grayson Path, City Manager; Stephanie Harris, City <br />Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk;°Gene Anderson; <br />Finance , Director; Richard Salter_ Police Chief; <br />Russells Thrasher, EMS Director; M.A.' ` Smith, <br />Public Works Director; Andrew Mack, Director of <br />Planning;, & Community Services; Clyde :Crews, <br />Fire Marshal; and Sandy Collard, HR Director <br />Opening A Benda <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Portugal called the meeting to aider at 5:30,p.in. <br />2. Invocation. <br />Finance Director Gene Anderson gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Hughes led the pledge. <br />4. A. Citizens' forum. <br />Derrick Hughes, 627-5a' N.E. — he referenced item 17 and said that a lot of people were <br />just now finding out that the name of the park was Marin Luther King. He said Joan Mathis had <br />dedicated her to life to the people in Paris and was still contributing to the community. Mr. <br />Hughes favored renaming the park after Mrs. Mathis. <br />Janice Moseley, 4100 Goforth, Kilgore, Texas - she said she received notification that the <br />City was doing to demolish the house at 473-5a' North Street, which belonged to her deceased <br />aunt and uncle. Ms. Moseley said she was a teacher, she was trying to clean up this property this <br />summer and had a potential buyer. She asked that the house not be demolished. <br />
