RESOLUTION NO. 87-097 WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division is administering assistance for the purpose of Texas Narcotics Control Programs; and, Whereas, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek such assistance and to cooperate with Lamar and Red River Counties in said project; and, WHEREAS, an application for such grant assistance in the amount of approximately $150,000.00, of which approxi- mately $100,000.00 is a 100% grant and $50,000.00 will require 25% matching funds, should be made; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: 1. That an application be made to the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division for a Texas Narcotics Control Grant in the amount of approx- imately $150,000.00, of which approximately $100,000.00 is a 100% grant and $50,000.00 will require 25% matching funds for Texas Narcotics Control Program. 2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. 3. That Sue Smith, be, and she is hereby appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, commu- nications, assurances and documents necessary for the completion of said project. 4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to receive and distribute funds for purposes of the Texas Narcotics Control Program.
