HPO <br />Walt Reep <br />Shelby Gilliam <br />Ronda Newber <br />1. Chair Dux called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. <br />2. The Commission distributed the $2500 facade grant to Ronda Newberry, officer manager of <br />Spencer orthodontics for completion of the rehabilitation of 134 1St SW in accordance with <br />the Certificate of Appropriateness. A photo was taken with the commission and the property <br />representative. <br />3. Introductions were put on hold for the next meeting when the new board members could <br />attend. <br />4. The meeting minutes of June 9, 2021 were approved by acclamation <br />5. The following certificates of appropriateness were granted: <br />a. 18 W. Plaza, Mr Faber was unable to attend the meeting due to illness so HPO did a brief <br />overview of the project. Mrs. Faber had been in contact with her and had provided the <br />specs on the doors that the applicant wanted to use to replace the existing doors. The <br />existing doors and frame are not secure. The new doors will match the pre -approved <br />doors on the Bonham Street facing fagade of this property. A motion was made by <br />Commissioner Vandiver to approve only the doors as presented in the COA and <br />accompanying drawings, seconded by Commissioner Caffey, Motion carried. <br />b. 333 Bonham- Ms. Shelby Gilliam presented the Certificate of Appropriateness <br />application. The building was recently purchased for private vehicle parking. The owners <br />presented some interior photos of the property noting what was existing but covered up <br />from the exterior. The plans for the property are to restore the transom windows, and <br />following the existing store front design and taking clues from historic photos, make <br />some exterior rehabilitation of the property. The configuration of the front three <br />storefront openings will be as presented: left bay: display window, entry display window, <br />three display windows of equal size in the middle bay, and a display window entry and <br />garage door on the right side.
